The Annual Boxing Day Duck Race was, once again held in Bottesford in front of an eager crowd glad of the opportunity to walk off the Christmas excesses and get some deserved fresh air.

In keeping with past tradition they were entertained by Morris Dancers as well as 'egging' on their little plastic friends.

In addition to the two usual races - red and blue this year saw the introduction of a third one - the green race. This race had been introduced after a promise that the club would attempt to raise much needed funds for a family in Bingham.

Harris Hisham (formerly O'Dare) suffers from Cerebral Palsy and the club have helped him and his family in 2007 by providing monies towards specialist training and accommodation in Sussex during this instructional period.

The race itself was a great success with further sales taking place before the start - not a usual practice but one to be repeated next year with the sales of at least six more cards on the day.

Robert Miles School Bingham

We are currently supporting the Robert Miles School Bingham by the purchase of bird boxes. We have just provided one with a wireless webcam installed.

Colour during the day and Infra-red at night.

This means the children can see what is happening within the box in their classrooms.

Viking Challenge

The Viking Challenge is an annual cycling event for charity. The course is set in beutiful countryside with some 'challenging' conditions, such as water, mud and weather! This is a fun event and one that regularly attracts over 1,000 entrants each year.
