Bonfire and Firework Display
Venue: The Paddocks, Bottesford 5th November 2011

The annual bonfire and firework display was much spoken about and hotly awaited by the local community this year. Last year's event would be a hard act to follow...

This year, to the good fortune of all the volunteers, the event landed on Saturday evening, which meant the day could be had building the bonfire, setting up the field and most importantly rigging up the fireworks.

As the drizzle commenced many of the Lions felt it would be a very damp affair indeed, and with a brand new firing system being implemented, the Lions did not want the evening to fail!

The public started arriving early in the evening, apparently keen to get their hands on the famous Vale of Belvoir Lions Burgers! By 7pm the crowds were heaving, the BBQ's were in full flow, Friends of Bottesford served hot chocolate and mulled wine, and generally spirits were high.

The fire was lit, and the firework display began. The fireworks this year were nothing less than spectacular, and the co-ordinators did a fantastic job as always.

The event made a profit of £2,856 for charity, which is a great result. Many thanks to all the public who supported this event.
