Casino Night for Allington and Sedgebrook PreSchool
Venue: Allington Village Hall on 19th March 2011
The Vale of Belvoir Lions are well known for hosting Casino events, and this one was no exception.
The Lions were approached by Fina Martinez of Allington with a view to hosting a Casino evening at Allington Village Hall. The event was to be in aid of raising money for the Allington and Sedgebrook Preschool, which is at present in danger of closing due to insufficient funds. The Vale of Belvoir Lions are proud to assist local communities in their efforts to raise funds for good causes.
Allington Village Hall was laid out and decorated with a 'Casino Royale' theme, and at opening time a rendition of 007's music was played as the hall filled with people ready for an evening of fun and games.
The gaming tables opened at 8:00pm, with everyone who came being given £1 million Vale of Belvoir pounds to kick off with. The tables were Roulette, Blackjack, Joker 7, Crown and Anchor, Caribbean Stud Poker and Card Racing.
As the evening progressed, a short break was had where a buffet was served up. Following the buffet, a charity auction was held with fantastic items such as a signed rugby ball by the Leicester Tigers, a signed shirt from the Nottingham Forest Football Team, a signed photo of Arsenal Football club, afternoon tea at Allington Manor to name but a few. The auction was fast and furious, but fun none-the-less.
The gaming tables re-opened for play, with the object of winning the most money on the evening to win a prize!!!
Overall the evening was a great success, the winning ladies having over £500 million in winnings, which won them a very nice bottle of bubbly.
The Vale of Belvoir Lions are proud to have provided a community service in the local area. Thank you to all the organisers at Allington Village Hall. A massive £1500.00 was raised in total.
